FAQ's

Can you describe the process?

We begin by talking with you. As the owner of the one of a kind piece, I want your input and story. Then, we dismantle the instrument of your choice, designing and choosing wood(s) that will compliment and preserve the history and story of the instrument. We go to work building your piece, protecting its beauty with high quality, durable finishes.

What type of wood do you use and what works best?

As a custom cabinetmaker with over 25 years of experience, I have access to most any wood. My favorite is cherry because as it ages, the richness of color develops and deepens.

Other stunning woods for your project include Maple, Walnut, Ash, Oak, Pine, Spruce. We also love to use exotic woods for accents such as Purple Heart.

How do you source the piano parts and can I provide my own?

We have options. Our preference is to use an instrument that has sentimental value to you but that you can no longer use. If you don’t have that one you are attached to or that you want to use for this sure-to-be-heirloom, we will scour the countryside to find one to create your masterpiece for you.
