Hi, I’m Bill.

I’m a craftsman. But more than that, I’m a storyteller. I believe that each project I create tells a unique story; your story. When someone steps into your home and sees an old instrument crafted into a piece of art, your guest instantly sees a glimpse of your story and it opens the door to share and hear many more. In our first consultation, I’ll hear a bit of your story.

Now, I’d like you to find a piece of mine.

It all started when...

My youngest daughter, who is a pianist, saw the keys from the inside of a baby grand that had been removed from a 100-year-old piano that had great sentimental value to her mom. We were unsure of what we were going to do with it until my daughter said “Dad, could you make me a coffee table with that?”

That was the start of Piano Furniture.

I've been a woodworker...

for over twenty five years, with a long history of designing and creating pieces for high-end homes across West Michigan. I am known for crafting a product that is distinctive and showcases the special appeal and unique accent of the wood.

I have always appreciated the richness and history of woodworking. It is in my blood. My father first introduced me to custom woodworking as something he and I could do together and it didn't take long to become a passion. Our first custom piece was a bookshelf that is still in our family.

My passion for cabinet making has carried over to the design and construction of special pieces from re-purposed piano parts. I love taking unformed, unshaped wood, and transforming it into something beautiful that can be enjoyed by others for generations. I will do the same for you,  creating a unique piece that will endure for years to come.
